Food For The Southern Soul™ offers a true taste of Charleston and the South Carolina lowcountry with our gourmet food products and catering services

“We started our business, Food for the Southern Soul, in 2002 when my husband Jimmy left his banking job to start a barbecue catering business. We often describe the leap as “his dream, my nightmare”! At the time, I continued practicing law while Jimmy jumped “whole hog” into the barbecue business. As the catering business grew, we decided to add a specialty foods division which focus on Southern pantry staples and specialty items we produce under our Food for the Southern Soul banner.

We produce and handcraft items in our commercial kitchen in Charleston, South Carolina. Not only do we utilize local ingredients, we grow many of our own products ~~ We cultivate and harvest our Lavington Farms Charleston Gold rice at our family farm just south of Charleston. We also grow sugar cane which we harvest by hand and cook down to cane syrup in a 100- year- old kettle over an open flame. In addition, we make our own Jerusalem Artichoke Relish, Vegetable Soup, Okra Soup, Creole Sauce, Blackjack Barbecue sauces and many other Southern delicacies.”
